84-year-old and 91-year-old Become the Two Oldest Donors in DCIDS History
August 6, 2026
The Sierra Donor Services California team successfully transplanted livers from 84-year-old and 91-year-old DCD donors, the two oldest DCD donors in DCIDS’ organization’s history, and helped save two lives.
“This remarkable work is inspiring and should motivate all of us to continue thoughtfully expanding the possibilities of donation. Each time we do, we create another opportunity to honor a donor, bring hope to a waiting recipient, and save another life.” – Maria Nauman, Director, Clinical Services
These extraordinary outcomes demonstrate the evolving landscape of donation and what is possible when teams evaluate every donor individually, remain open to every opportunity, and apply thoughtful clinical judgment rather than allowing age alone to define what is possible. This serves as a reflection of DCI Donor Services’ mission and commitment to every donor.
