Community Baby Expo in Albuquerque supports growing families
July 17, 2025
New Mexico Donor Services was proud to participate in a vibrant and heartwarming Community Baby Expo, hosted at the Alamosa Community Center at the Ted M. Gallegos Complex in Albuquerque. The event brought together nearly 30 community partners to support expecting parents and young families across the region.

Sponsored by Presbyterian Health Plan, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, Molina Healthcare, and UnitedHealthcare, the Community Baby Expo offered a wide range of resources, services, and education—all free to the public. Importantly, attendees had the chance to learn about topics such as maternal and child health, car seat safety, CPR training, vaccination access, and much more.
In addition to informative booths, the event featured plenty of excitement. Families explored pregnancy and parenting resources, connected with healthcare providers, and entered raffle giveaways for prizes like car seats, portable cribs (Pack ‘n Plays), diapers, baby monitors, and play mats. These thoughtful prizes help ease the transition into parenthood and demonstrate the event’s commitment to practical, hands-on support.
“Participating in the Community Baby Expo was an incredible opportunity to connect directly with expectant parents and highlight the life-saving potential of placenta donation. Many people are surprised to learn that donated placental tissue can help heal wounds and treat serious medical conditions. Educating mothers before they give birth is key—when families have the information ahead of time, they’re empowered to make a decision that could benefit patients in need. Events like this allow us to share that message in a supportive, accessible environment.”
— Karina Loretto, External Affairs Coordinator, New Mexico Donor ServicesIn part, the services and giveaways featured at the expo were made possible through funding from the State of New Mexico, whose support helps ensure that families across the state receive timely, relevant health information and assistance.
