New Mexico Donor Services reflects on their lifesaving achievements in 2023!

In 2023, New Mexico Donor Services reached incredible heights in organ and tissue donation and transplantation. This past year we celebrated the impact of 95 donor heroes who made 241 transplants possible in 2023. We also celebrated 312 Tissue Donors with 312 Musculoskeletal Donors and a record of 69 Heart Valve Donors! Our amazing Birth Tissue team was able to receive 75 birth tissue donations this past year and through our Aftercare program we were able to help 685 families through our Grief Coach services.

This is an incredible achievement and would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone at NMDS. We are so excited to see what this year will hold, and cannot wait to help save even more lives in 2024.

More than 100,000 Americans are awaiting a life-saving organ transplant, despite an average of 110 people receiving a transplant each day in the U.S. The NMDS team works tirelessly to save lives of everyone currently on the organ transplant waitlist.
